The
Scottsdale Strummers was formed in November of 2006. We slowly added
to the group until we now number over 2 dozen, with about half that
showing up on a given Friday.
Our
intent is to promote the ukulele in Arizona. We will do this by
performing wherever we can, and hosting workshops and gatherings for
ukulele players and interested people.
I have come to the
conclusion that the best way to keep a group together is to have
goals. Ours are shows, and we are always preparing for a show. In
addition to small ones, like senior center cafeterias, local coffee
houses and things of that nature we participate in at least 1 folk festival
every year.
The
Scottsdale Strummers meet from 10 am till noon on Fridays.
